Voiceover!

Well, that’s why you came here right? No? Well…keep scrolling, there’s more!

REL Southwest Testimonial
“Chris was responsive and delivered high-quality files. Chris was very diligent about the content and he took time to read and practice the narration. We could tell because the narration text was a little wordy, but Chris made it sound fluid and engaging. Thank you, Chris, for the great narration!”

Copy Writing

As a voice actor I see hundreds and hundreds of scripts monthly. Some of them are written very well. Some of them…well…let’s just say not so much.

And as a reader of those scripts I appreciate good copy. So, I know what your actors like. Simple copy, easily read, can be read to the timing without fear of bodily harm (actually only slightly melodramatic…)

As the end client, I also know what you’re looking for. To tell your story, with the most relevance to the listener, while the copy captures the message (so the actor can deliver it!)

My web developer didn’t write any of this. I did. That is just one example of my style of writing. Chances are if you call an Ace Hardware store and they put you on hold, you won’t hear my voice (note to self: Ask the guy why he doesn’t use my voice for the male parts) BUT you will hear my words. I might be responsible for the words you hear when you’re placed on hold at your local vets office, too! (But only if those messages were good because, frankly, I only write good messages…)

So…

If you’re crafting a commercial project and you’re not sure how to best create content for the audio (or even where to start), I have a solution.

If you’re trying to refine a message and need a wordsmith, I have a solution. Me!

If you’re tired of writing your own copy and need help, I am the solution!

Audio Editing

Audio editing. Ughhhhh. We all hate it right? Not me! I kinda like it!

If you’re an Audio book Narrator and don’t want to spend the time editing or know how to edit your files to meet Audible/ACX standards, consider me. I’ve edited an uploaded a number of audio books that met Audible/ACX’s standards. I know the technical requirements and I understand the process. If a deadline has you pressed, I’m happy to help, as well. (If you’re a Narrator and want to learn basic editing techniques, please reach out to me at chris@christhornvo.com and I can direct you.)

In a pinch because you’ve got too many commercial spots to mix and edit to time or just don’t want to do it? I’m your guy for mixing FX, MUX, you name it.

Have a podcast and don’t how to mix the music, bumpers, or intro/outro? Or you have a podcast and simply need it edited, Please, reach out.

Are you in the legal profession, law enforcement, or a private investigator and need audio cleaned up for use as evidence? I can do it.

If you have audio, legally obtained (of course), that is of poor quality, low volume, or just noisy. I have processes which may make the recordings audible and usable in a legal setting. I am also willing to provide transcripts of any audio upon request. If I can’t provide you with usable audio or viable transcript, you won’t be charged.

I can work with many digital audio formats such as .mp3, .wav, .aiff and more. Recorded cell phone conversations, recordings from digital recorders, and audio obtained from directional microphones used for surveillance are just three of many examples as to why you may need enhanced audio.

McKinlay Law Testimonial
“Chris’ expertise/ability to enhance the quality of a sub-par audio recording was a game-changer in my client’s divorce case.  In less than a couple of hours, he was able to take what was otherwise arguably a useless recording and turn it into a compelling piece of evidence, which was instrumental in securing my client the prompt (and attractive) settlement that she sought.”

Studio Design and Construction (Consultation)

I designed, built, and furnished my home studio with a lot of input and advice on equipment but very little help on construction. So, I did it myself anyway. I did some things pretty good with good guesses. I made some mistakes, too.

In any event. I make myself available by appointment to discuss your home build and design. Also, to let you know where I goofed AND what I got right to help you eliminate some of the guesswork.
